We, Jack and Swanny Kooy, are in full time ministry, taking the LIGHT of the GOSPEL into the world for the last 48 years and pioneering several works. We came to Australia in 1963.  We pioneered in places where there was no Pentecostal work.

In Darwin we opened a coffee-shop, “as it was the time of Gospel coffee-shops,” – we also showed many films on the beach where many hippies lived at that time. We often worked very many hours into the night sometimes till 4 am in the morning. Many accepted the Lord in Darwin. We often went back to Darwin for soul winning Gospel Crusades. They also showed our TV films on their local station.

We have been to Thursday Island, and to Murrey Island to help pioneer a church. Together with AOG Ron Damon from Dallby QLD. Later a church building was also built as many people accepted Christ on the island. We also held crusades on Murray Island. One night the whole island came to see the Gospel film which we showed at midnight on the beach there. Power came from a generator from the Japanese fisherman there. People got healed and saved.

We helped for 4 months in New Guinea on the Island of Daru. LAter on we helped pioneer a church in Port Moresby. Together with John Pasterkamp. We organised gospel crusades in Rabaul in Port Moresby.

God gave us a great revival in 1971 & 72 on the Indonesian Island of Timor. We also went to Roti Island and Madura Island. To Java and Sumatra Islands.

In the mining town of Mt Isa we held miracle healing gopsle crusades. Souls came to Christ and people received healing from the Lord. Many also received the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

In 1973, Swanny and I felt the leading of the Lord to buy some land and build a Convention Centre, which we did in Carbrook QLN. We opened the Centre in 1975, but our first Camp/Convention was at Christmas 1974. People came from Toowoomba, Rockhampton and Bundaberg where we had ministered, also from Mt. Isa and a bus load from Darwin. At Our Convention Centre we organised conferences every Christmas and Easter. The big tent we hired for the conferences sometimes could not hold the many people who attended Camp.

In Victoria we ministered in Geelong, Colac, Cressy, Cobden, Silvan, Dandenong and Mt Evelyn area where many souls also came to Christ.

After the pioneering time we started CRUSADING. We did this with the combined churches together in many places; Gillgandra, Parkes, Forbes, Dubbo, Albury Wodonga, Peakhill and elsewhere. We had a Semi-Trailer which could be converted into a mobile Church and be placed anywhere on the beach fronts, or on school grounds or parks in the centre of the town, which we did.

One year on New Year’s Eve we had permission to have our Gospel truck on the beachfront of Surfers Paradise we played music and preached until 2am in the morning. A great Gospel band was playing and we had over a thousand people in front of the truck. We always preached a short Gospel message. I remember many responded to accept Christ as there saviour. A number of people who got saved through our He lives Crusades are now ministers of the Gospel somewhere in Australia. To God be all the glory.

In the early eighties I became part of INTERMIN. God was moving with a new move of the Holy Spirit. In those days God blessed our Crusade work and conferences. Later we started sharing what God has taught us in a number of Bible schools across Australia.

In 1986 we were called back to our homeland, Holland. We left Australia late 1987.
In Holland we founded a minister’s fellowship and a mission work that now reaches into India and Indonesia. While were in Holland we were able to invite Ps. Hal Oxley, Ps. Kevin Conner, Ps. David Cartledge and others to minister to the ministers and in churches across Holland.

In 2005 we received an invitation to come back to Australia to use our experience to help minister within country churches who are often forgotten and left on their own. We arrived in Australia in 2007, but had to go back again to organize many things. We were able to buy a house February 2008. We are thankful to God for His leading and blessing.
