19/11/09 HEALING ALL MANNER OF SICKNESSES
Scripture – Matt 4:23-24 “And Jesus went about all Galilee teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of kingdom and healing all kinds of sicknesses and all kinds of disease among the people…they brought to him all sick people…”
Observations – Jesus both went about teaching, preaching and healing and His fame grew to the point that multitudes were coming to Him with the sick. Right from the start Jesus includes healing the afflicted, diseased, tormented, demon possessed, epileptics and paralytics. Every type of sickness or problem (physical and mental and emotional) was on His agenda. He preached the gospel of the Kingdom – and healed wherever He went. In fact healing was part of the Good News. The devil’s dark kingdom was being demolished by someone He couldn’t stop. The light had surely come into the darkness.
Application – We are Jesus’ ambassadors and likewise should be preaching the kingdom and healing all manner of sicknesses and afflictions. We should have great confidence to do this. This is repeated time and time again. Satan won’t like it, the religious wont’ like it, but the masses are looking for ‘revelation’ and we have it.
Prayer – Lord, help me to become far more like you – proclaiming liberty to the sick and afflicted. Help us as a church to go out and then people will come to the place of life and health.
18/11/09 THE LORD OUR HELP
Scripture – Psalm 124:8 “Our help is in the Name of the Lord who made heaven and earth.”
Observations – David in this Psalm has been declaring that the Lord has been on their side and the troubles they have suffered have not been because of Him. God is their deliverer not their enemy. He has a clear understanding that our help is in the Name of the Lord. We are very blessed to have the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to help us. As we call on His name we are saved and we are delivered! He is a present help in time of need. We can come boldly to the throne of grace in time of need.
Application – It is important that I remember the power of His name. At His Name every knee must bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord. He is the Lord who made heaven and earth – the almighty, all powerful One. It is important to recognise that He is not our enemy but our deliverer. Unlike Job we know who our enemy is.
Prayer – Lord I declare the Name of Jesus Christ is above our lives. We are in no danger, for you are with us. You are our help, our provider and protector. My God is the creator! My God is the Greatest!
Hi Everyone!
It is good to be home again after what was a very exciting and fruitful time in Myanmar.
Both Phil and I have been so blessed. Where ever we went God healed people.
With very few exceptions, those we prayed for were healed immediately or were healed very soon afterwards. What is also exciting is that the healing is continuing back here in Australia. Today Phil prayed for a man who was in severe pain and could hardly walk and could only move very slowly. As Phil prayed he was healed – jumping and leaping and very happy!
This Sunday we are believing that God wants to heal those who are sick. I want to encourage you to invite the sick and come ready to be healed if you are sick or in pain. Maybe God will give you a word for someone else.
There is no reason at all that God will not do what He loves to do – move through people who are willing to heal the sick, cast out demons and be used to confirm His word with signs following. It is no big deal to God. We are the ones who have made it more complicated and difficult than it is.
Let’s all come ready on Sunday to see the great things that the Lord will do.
