WAITING SILENTLY ON GOD Isaiah 65-66, Psalm 62, John 3
Scripture – Psalm 62:5 “My soul waits silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him”
Observation – It is important that at times we are silent as we wait upon the Lord. Often we are doing all the talking rather than listening and waiting to see what He has to say or do. When we wait silently on the Lord it shows that we believe He has answers, words and what ever else we need. It is important to wait with an expectation of good. That is biblical hope!
Application – The Lord knows that I am often so busy running here and there and that I don’t find time to wait silently before the Lord. Perhaps this reveals a lack of confidence in me. Perhaps I don’t think I will benefit from this waiting. I’m too busy rushing off to do His work. Sounds ridiculous but itcan be true.
Prayer – Dear Lord, I am sure that I get into trouble, become stressed and lack peace and fruit because I neglect waiting silently before You. Help me I pray to wait on You as I should. I know I need You so much. I so easily can get side-tracked. My soul, wait silently on the Lord!
