A SOAP Forum – Get involved

There are a lot of people involved in using SOAP as their daily Bible study. Around the world people are blessed by reading other people’s comments on their day’s reading. Why not get involved?

You can either just read comments or write your comments on the blog or make a comment on someone else’s comments. It is all a good way to keep motivated and to receive greater illumination of God’s word.

If you are unsure of how to blog speak to Tim Jack. It is pretty simple once you get going.

As well as checking out our site, there are other sites that have people’s comments. Wayne Cordeiro’s site is is a good one to look at. http://www.enewhope.org/

SOAP Bible Study – 2 Cor 11:2-3 – 11/4/09

The Simplicity that is in Christ

In today’s study I really saw Paul’s concern that people are too easily lead away from the “simplicity that is in Christ”. Just like the serpent deceived Eve, we can be deceived into complicating the Lord’s very clear and simple gospel. Too easily we can go back into the bondage of legalism and self effort.

Anything that causes us to to think we can establish our own righteousness by obeying a lot of do’s and don’ts is taking us away from the simplicity of “Christ and Him crucified”. In the garden of Eden the serpent   added to what the Lord had said and Eve fell for it. If we keep going back to what the Word says and concentrating on the Christ and the cross we will be safe.

The “simplicity that is in Christ” is all about placing our faith in Him and what He has aleady done! It is our faith in His work, not our faith in our works that pleases the Lord.

Lord, help us to keep our eyes on you and the work that you did at Calvary. Help us to keep living from the “tree of life” being led by your Spirit and help us not to be tempted to live from the “tree of the knowledge of good and evil”.
