More on S.O.A.P.

Over the last couple of weeks we have been getting quite a bit of feed-back on SOAP. There have been many praise reports from those who have noticed a measurable difference in their life since commencing SOAP. There have also been quite a few who have found that keeping up with the program has been pretty difficult.

With each of the people who have found it “difficult to keep up” I have given the same advice.

It is better to do something each day (or at least nearly every day) than to try to do it all each day and fail on many occasions. Remember the aim of the program is to establish a regular, helpful and encouraging habit into our life. Some need to move from level 3 to level 2 or level 2 to level 1. There is no special prize for doing the most at the highest level. That can just be pride.

For some working on level 3 may be OK as long as they can feel free to swing to the other levels when time and circumstances make it too difficult to complete level 3. Personally, I have some days when I just do the reading and don’t do the writing. On other days I read less than is prescribed. And every now and again I miss a day, without feeling condemned.

For me the establishing of an ongoing Bible reading and faith-building habit has been the greatest thing about SOAP. Also I am amazed who many times the Lord speaks to me through the designated reading. It doesn’t happen every day but it happens enough fo me to eagerly look forward to my mornings in the Word of God.
